2023 Penn State Soybean Workshops

Feb. 20, 2023 — Mercer County, PA 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Penn State Extension Mercer County office, 463 N. Perry Highway

Feb. 23, 2023 — Leesport, PA 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.  Berks County Agricultural Center, 1238 County Welfare Road.

Feb. 28,2023– Pennsylvania Furnace:, PA 8:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Pasto Agricultural Museum, Penn State Ag Progress Days site, 2710 W. Pine Grove Road.

March 2,2023 — Greensburg, PA  8:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Penn State Extension Westmoreland County office, 214 Greensburg-Donohoe Station Road.

Designed for new and experienced Pennsylvania soybean producers, the workshops will cover variety selection; planting rates; fertility management; weed, insect and disease scouting; and harvest management.

The $10 registration fee covers lunch. Space is limited, so preregistration is recommended. Registration deadlines vary by location.

Opportunity is available for attendees to earn CCA credits and credits toward pesticide certification.

2023 Penn State Crop Conferences

  • Feb. 7, 2023 – Lebanon Valley Exposition Center, Lebanon, PA
    The in-person conference will include six tracks with breakout sessions focused on nutrient management, pesticide education, integrated pest management, forage crops, grain crop management, and soil health and cover crops.
  • Mar. 1 & 3, 2023 – Virtual via Zoom (2 days)This virtual conference is a two-day event with sessions covering pesticide education and crop production topics.

The Pennsylvania Soybean Board will host the North Central Soybean Research Program (NCSRP) meeting in State College, PA. NCSRP is recognized as a leader in multi-state collaborative research and outreach efforts to support soybean farmers and drive the soybean industry forward. The focus of NCSRP is soybean production research and extension outreach. Investments of soybean checkoff funds are made in university research and extension programs to better understand and manage plant stressors that reduce soybean yield and farmer profitability.
