HARRISBURG, Pa. (August 29, 2025) – The Pennsylvania Soybean Board is investing in the future of soybean farming by funding innovative projects that strengthen profitability, efficiency, and sustainability for producers statewide. Applications are now being accepted for both research and sponsorship proposals that deliver direct benefits to soybean growers.
Research grant applications are due by 11 a.m. on November 19, 2025, with video submissions due by 11 a.m. on December 3. Funding awards will be announced by December 12.
Projects funded through the Soybean Checkoff have historically led to new technologies, market opportunities, and improved farm practices. The all-farmer Pennsylvania Soybean Board encourages investigators with new and challenging ideas to apply for research that can expand profit opportunities and help farmers adapt to challenges.
By funding both research and sponsorships, the Board ensures Pennsylvania farmers stay competitive, seize new market opportunities, and build a stronger agricultural industry. A list of suggested research topics, compiled from board meetings and events, is available in the Research Funding Guidelines and Policy document, though applicants are encouraged to bring forward innovative ideas.
In addition to research grants, the Board will also consider sponsorship proposals for events and activities that directly benefit soybean producers. For these projects, the Soybean Board recommends using the sponsorship form. All proposals must demonstrate a benefit to soybean producers.
Grant and sponsorship applications, guidelines, and procedures are available on the Pennsylvania Soybean Board website.

About the Pennsylvania Soybean Board
The Pennsylvania Soybean Board is a farmer-controlled Board responsible for managing Pennsylvania’s share of funds received from the nationwide Soybean Checkoff program. The funding is available under an assessment program, approved by Congress in 1990, under which soybean farmers contribute 50 cents of every $100 they receive for their beans at the first point of sale. Funds are used to develop markets, educate consumers, and research new ways to utilize and produce soybeans more efficiently. For more information, visit www.pasoybean.org.
