Penn State Extension Winter Crop Conferences Scheduled
Penn State Crop Specialists and industry experts discuss key crop management issues
HARRISBURG, PA (December 29, 2018) –The Penn State Extension Crop Management Team has scheduled five winter Regional Crop Conferences. These one-day seminars offer opportunities to earn pesticide, nutrient management and certified crop advisor credits, and to learn about key current crop management issues. Support for the conferences is provided in part by the Pennsylvania Soybean Board through the soybean checkoff.
The Penn State Extension Crops Conferences are conveniently located throughout the state. Each day-long conference offers a program with a series of concurrent breakout sessions, giving attendees the opportunity to select topics that are relevant to them and their agricultural operations. In addition to hearing valuable cropping information from Penn State field and forage crop specialists and industry experts, participants will also earn a minimum of two category and two core pesticide education credits.

About the Pennsylvania Soybean Board
The Pennsylvania Soybean Board is a farmer-controlled Board responsible for managing Pennsylvania’s share of funds received from the nationwide Soybean Checkoff program. The funding is available under an assessment program, approved by Congress in 1990, under which soybean farmers contribute 50 cents of every $100 they receive for their beans at the first point of sale. Funds are used to develop markets, educate consumers, and research new ways to utilize and produce soybeans more efficiently. For more information, visit www.pasoybean.org.
